Terms of Service

Last updated 21 August 2026

These terms are between you and BRAZAUSTRA PTY LTD (ABN 45 647 949 488), trading as DeskAli ("we", "us"). By creating a DeskAli account you agree to them.

iOS Terms of Use (EULA). The DeskAli iOS app is licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. These DeskAli service terms apply in addition to that licence and govern the DeskAli account and service.

1. What DeskAli does

DeskAli answers calls to a DeskAli-issued Australian number. An AI receptionist speaks to the caller, takes details, and records what was said. You then see those calls and bookings in the app and on the web dashboard.

Ali is software, not a person, and she will sometimes be wrong. She can mishear a name, an address or a price. Every booking she takes is a draft for you to check, which is why nothing is confirmed until you confirm it. Do not rely on DeskAli alone for anything where a mistake would be expensive or unsafe.

2. Your account

3. Recording calls is your responsibility

DeskAli records and transcribes calls from members of the public. In most Australian states it is against the law to record a call without letting the other party know. You are responsible for making sure callers are told. Ali announces the recording in every greeting and that safeguard cannot be turned off in the app.

You are also responsible for handling your callers' information lawfully once it is in your account. We hold it for you; we do not own it.

4. What you must not do

Connected accounting software

DeskAli can connect to Xero at your request. By connecting, you confirm you are entitled to grant DeskAli access to that Xero organisation, and you authorise DeskAli to create and update customers, invoices and payments there on your behalf as described in our privacy policy. Xero is a separate service with its own terms; DeskAli is not affiliated with or endorsed by Xero. You are responsible for reviewing synced records in Xero and for your own bookkeeping and tax obligations. You can disconnect at any time, and we will revoke our access at Xero when you do.

5. Paying for it

6. Your phone number

DeskAli may issue you an Australian number that Ali answers. A DeskAli-issued number remains ours and is not portable to another provider. If you separately ask us to port your existing number, ownership and port-out arrangements are governed by the carrier process and your written port request.

7. Availability

We work to keep DeskAli running at all times but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Phone networks, AI providers and hosting platforms all sit between a caller and a booking, and any of them can fail. Keep your own phone able to receive calls.

8. Ending it

9. Liability

Nothing here excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where those rights apply and we are permitted to limit our liability, we limit it to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

Beyond that, we are not liable for business losses arising from a missed call, a mistaken booking, or an interruption to the service — including lost profits or lost customers. Our total liability in any twelve-month period will not exceed what you paid us in that period.

10. Changes and law

If we change these terms we will update the date above and provide an account notice before anything material takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
